On Thursday, September 1, Terry Boone was honored at a ceremony celebrating her retirement from Orangeburg County Economic Development Commission. She joined OCDC in 2002, and was Executive Assistant to the Director. She was recognized by many of her colleagues for her devoted service and singled out as critical to the success of the Commission in recent years. Her devotion to her job and willingness to go the extra mile was noted.
Many friends and co workers attended the event, held at the offices of OCDC. Gregg Robinson, Executive Director of OCDC, led well wishers in a short, but impressive ceremony featuring testimonials by colleagues including past board chairpersons. Terry was very appreciative and moved by the accolades and good will of her friends and colleagues.
Terry is chair of the Administrative Council at New Hope. She and her husband, Vance, former sheriff of Orangeburg County, reside on River Drive in Rowesville. Attending from New Hope were, Sandra Whetsell, David and Cathy Hutto, Linda Heape, Mark Fairey, Henrietta Dukes and Art Whetstone.
