Led by Ed Hinshaw, we once again worshipped in song at New Hope. Ed was accompanied by Misty Salley on the piano. Misty is no stranger to New Hope having served as pianist some years ago. The program featured several solos by Ed including I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked, The Blind Ploughman and How Great Thou Art. This was a return engagement for Ed and Misty as they were last with us on January 29, 2017. The service carried themes of Hymns of Courage, Faith and New Creation. The hymns and scripture are selected to carry out the theme appropriately and included such favorites as Here I Am Lord and To God Be the Glory. it is a wonderful thing to come together and celebrate our Lord and our Savior in song. May we do so forever. See order of worship .
A large part of these celebrations is the fellowship dinner which follows. Not only the good food provided by Tom Jennings, but folks getting together again, renewing acquaintances and catching up. We were treated to a generous offering of southern favorites and an array of desserts provided by some of our members. In addition, it was a beautiful day in late April, so comfortable weather to go with the comfort food.
As usual, we have many folks to thank - certainly Ed, Misty, Pastor Sandra and Tom Jennings. Also the ladies of the church who got everything read and prepared the delectable desserts. And the members and friends who enjoyed another gathering at New Hope. And most of all, God, who has blessed us abundantly and to whom we offer our Thankfulness.
It should be noted that Pastor Sandra has resigned her position at New Hope due to ill health. She was not present for the event but was certainly with us in spirit. She had made the arrangements for us with Ed and also with Tom Jennings. It seems the themes of Courage, Faith and New Creation were very appropriate for our congregation on this day.
