It was yet another great day of praising the Lord in song and scripture for New Hope. This time it was the choir from Shandon UMC, Columbia, who led us in the worship service. Under the immensely capable direction of Eddie Huss, the choir filled the church with their beautiful voices. Mr. Huss conducted and also provided world class piano accompaniment. Anthem selections included Blessed Assurance, The Lord is My Shepherd and O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing. See order of worship.
Following the service we enjoyed a meal at The Oaks, Magnolia Room. featuring the cuisine of Roy Dickson. This was a new experience for us and in a beautiful setting, very fitting for the occasion. To be guests of the facility most of us know as the Methodist Oaks certainly added to our fellowship experience. Fortunately it was a pleasant day and the rain took the day off.
It was really great to see everyone enjoying this most traditional of Christian experiences. As Pastor Sandra said in her remarks we are at our best in service to the Lord when we worship and fellowship together. As usual, we have many folks to thank - certainly Eddie and the choir, Pastor Sandra and The Oaks. Also the ladies of the church who got everything ready with the usual efficiency. A special thanks to Linda Heape for arranging the meal with the Oaks. And the members and friends who enjoyed another gathering at New Hope. And most of all, God, from whom all of our blessings flow.
