A Planning Meeting was held on August 11 in the Fellowship Hall. This newsletter covers the results of that meeting. After a short devotional, Pastor Sandra
led the first session in which we focused on three main topics: Facilites, Church Family and Community. Then Jim Arant guided us through a discussion on developing a mission statement for the church. The Facilities suggestions are shown below. The Family and Community ideas are covered in the Church Calendar.
Attending were Glenn and Maralene Simpson, Bill and Denise Metts, John Fairey, Art Whetstone and Rev. Boyd Chewning. The Fellowship Hall was beautifully set up for the meeting, thanks to Glenn and Maralene.

New Hope has said YES!!!! We are off to an activity-filled autumn with something for everyone. Activities mean volunteers are needed to carry out our awesome plans. And we will always accept donations! Please contact Pastor Sandra if you want to volunteer (829-3752 or 664-3624 or email@example.com). You can send your donations to PO Box 54, Rowesville, SC 29133. Or even better, drop them in the offering plate on Sunday.
Please pay special attention to our Charge Conference Meeting with D.S. Yebuah on Sunday, September 15 at 4 p.m. This will be the first New Hope ONLY Charge Conference. There are many (25+) forms to be completed, committees to be assigned, and meetings to be held in a three-week time frame. Many of these forms are to be completed by members of New Hope (i.e., Trustees’ Report; Finance Report; etc.)
Please remember it is because of the dedication of Rev. Yebuah and the diligence of the membership at New Hope that we have been able to separate from the three churches previously on the Rowesville Charge. It's now up to us to have a Charge Conference Meeting with forms completed by September 9th, so Pastor Sandra can have them ready for her meeting with the D.S. on Sept 12.

Some of the items mentioned obviously cost money and are subject to budgetary considerations. Cost estimates and priorities will be reviewed and refined as we move forward. We will gladly take donations for any of the above including cushions for the pews in the sanctuary or to help offset the costs of monthly suppers, the Halloween Trunk R Treat, Hot Dogs for the Community, or the float for the Christmas Parade, etc. Remember that you can designate your giving for a specific project if you like.
